West Nipissing police dealing with rash of crimes

West Nipissing police have several domestic disputes on their hands.  Inspector Ray St. Pierre says in Verner, police responded to a call about a distraught woman.   When police saw the woman, she was bruised and had scratches on her neck.   As a result, they`ve charged a man with uttering threats, assault and resisting arrest.   In a separate incident, police charged a woman with assault after she hit her husband in the back.  And a third instance saw police break up a fight between a husband and wife who were arguing over drug use.

Meanwhile police are also dealing with a series of thefts in West Nipissing.  In Sturgeon Falls, an iPhone was stolen from a vehicle and taken from another vehicle was a GPS plus debit cards.  St. Pierre also says a cargo trailer with a Honda generator was taken from a man`s property.  The trailer and generator are worth more than $7,000.   St. Pierre says police are also investigating break-ins in Cache Bay where several camps were entered and among the stolen items were barbeques.
