Scientists say MNRF on right path with walleye practices in Lake Nipissing

Scientists say the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is doing the right things to help increase the walleye population in Lake Nipissing.  The province commissioned independent scientists in Canada and the U. S. to study fishery management practices in the lake.   The scientists say the MNRF’s methods are the best way to help the walleye recover.  The ministry has been limiting the number of walleye anglers can catch and is also protecting young fish.  The scientists also recommended how to achieve a sustainable fishery for Lake Nipissing and the ministry is reviewing those suggestions.
