Poll shows Sudburians want their MPP to step down as minister during bribery scandal case

Seventy-one percent of respondents to a Sudbury Star poll believe their MPP should step down as energy minister until a bribery scandal in the riding is resolved.  And taking a cue from that result, NDP leader Andrea Horwath wants the Premier to follow the wishes of Sudbury residents.

Horwath says it’s obvious from their response that integrity and honour mean something to Sudburians.  She says Kathleeen Wynne should respect the will of the people and ask Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault to temporarily step aside.  It’s alleged that a top Liberal offered Thibeault a bribe to run for the Liberals in Sudbury and that matter is now before the courts.
