Each year the provincial government honours the Top 20 seniors and this year two northerners are being recognized. Dalton Hazzard of North Bay is being honoured for his four decades of taking care of outdoor ice rinks for kids and families. Hazzard cleans the snow off the surface then floods the rink on a regular basis. And during spring and summer, he cares for the flower gardens at his local Legion as well as the lawn. In Bracebridge, Marlene Tynan visits a local nursing home almost every day to help with meal time and other activities. She also reads to the residents, sometimes up to five hours a day and chaperones bus trips.
