Fedeli says FAO confirms Liberals can’t balance budget over short-term

The Financial Accountability Officer has confirmed what the Tories have said for years, that the Liberals can’t balance the budget by 2018.  The news is vindication for Progressive Conservative finance critic Vic Fedeli, who is also the MPP for Nipissing.  Fedeli has claimed the Liberals can only balance the budget by selling Hydro One, the LCBO headquarters and the OPG building.  Fedeli has maintained money from the asset sales can only be applied to the budget once and he says the FAO agrees.  Fedeli says the Liberals were “outed” by the FAO who calls the balancing of the budget in 2018 artificial.  Fedeli says the news gets worse because the FAO is forecasting deficit budgets right into 2021.   By then our total debt will exceed one third of a trillion dollars at $370-billion.
