Police agencies may have put a dent in the CRA scam, but OPP are reminding the public to stay vigilant, because there are other scams out there. One is the bank security scam where a con artist pretends to be bank security and asks for help in a criminal investigation. The scammer asks that you give him money they’ll trace as it makes its way through the bank in an effort to catch a crooked employee. The reality is there is no thief in the bank. If you give the fake security agent your money, you’ll never see it again.
