Teen arrested for bomb hoax threats at two high schools

A 16-year-old boy from Milton is charged with fake bomb threats that shutdown Chapleau Public School and Espanola High School.  The teen left the bomb threats on voice mail at both schools.  Police searched the schools but there were no bombs.  The teen targeted Chapleau first forcing the school to close last Thursday and then a weekend threat kept Espanola High closed on Monday.

Coincidentally there was a bomb threat at Walmart in New Liskeard Friday night but so far there’s indication it’s related to the other threats.  The teen faces numerous charges including four counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and three counts of uttering threats to damage property.  Other charges are two counts each of mischief over five thousand dollars, public mischief, identity fraud and providing false information.  Espanola High School will re-open on Tuesday.
