Health units have started with their annual flu season messages. They say influenza is a preventable disease that can be mitigated with annual vaccine shots. Vaccines protect about 70 percent of people who get a flu shot. The health units say you can still get the flu even if you’ve been inoculated, but your chances of coming down with the flu will be less.
