The road infrastructure in Sudbury is getting a major shot in the arm with news that the Maley Drive Extension is finally happening. A ground-breaking ceremony symbolized that start of the $80-million project. Several politicians were on hand including Marc Serre, the MP for Nickel Belt. The extension creates a new east-west road link in the city. Residents will get a new four lane road from Lasalle to Barry Downe Road, two interchanges, a realignment of Notre Dame Avenue and the rehabilitation of Maley Drive. The project cost will be shared by Sudbury as well as the federal and provincial governments.
