Clement quits leadership race

The MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka is no longer in the race to become the next federal leader of the Conservative Party.  Tony Clement is withdrawing his candidacy because he hasn’t been able to raise the necessary funds.  Clement first sought the federal leadership in 2004 which was won by Stephen Harper.  Two years before that he went after the Ontario leadership when Mike Harris retired but lost to Ernie Eves.  Six people are still seeking the federal leadership with more expected to enter the race well before Tories name a new leader next May 27th.
