West Nipissing looking at revised ice policy allocation

Changes are coming to how ice is allocated at the Sturgeon Falls and Verner arenas.  In an effort to ensure the facilities are used as much as possible and the time is distributed fairly, West Nipissing wants ice requests by late summer.  The municipality’s goal is to have all the ice time allocated by mid-September.   Another change is the end of 72 hour cancellation notices.  Tournament organizers will now have to give 60 days’ notice and regular users need to provide 30 days’ notice.  The longer notice gives the municipality find another user instead of losing revenue by having an empty arena.
