Ombudsman’s office says special council meeting not illegal

The Ontario Ombudsman’s Office says a special meeting West Nipissing council held July 21st was not illegal.  The status of that meeting saw two councillors leave the chambers citing the legality issue.  However the Ombudsman says the meeting was legal and there was no violation of the Procedural By-law.  The office also commended council for modifying the by-law on the way it provides advance notice to the public involving special meetings.
