Volunteer firefighters in West Nipissing have set a big goal for themselves in an annual fundraiser. The volunteers want to raise more than $13,000 during the Pink Shirt campaign. Last year they fell just short of 13 G’s. The firefighters are now selling pink shirts at $20 apiece and ask people to wear the shirts each Friday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month during October.
The shirts can be bought from any volunteer firefighter. Then on October 29th at the Station 1-B firehouse, there’s the annual Pink T-shirt group shot for everyone who bought a shirt. The money raised goes to the West Nipissing General Hospital Equipment Fund for equipment that helps with cancer interventions such as chemotherapy hood and now the x-ray.
