Franco-Ontarian Day celebrations near

Officially, Franco-Ontarian Day is this Sunday.  However the Municipality of West Nipissing along with CANO are holding a major celebration of the special day Friday morning.   It’s at the Sturgeon Falls Recreation Complex and the event features quite a few dignitaries and a special performance of Cabaret Jeunesse.  Franco-Ontarian Day celebrates French culture in Ontario which goes back 400 years ago when Samuel de Champlain arrived in Canada.  If you plan on taking part in the festivities, wear green or white which symbolize the colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag.  Everything begins at 9:45am.
