Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is insisting comments by the finance minister that London has a key role in the Ring of Fire is bad news for the ONTC. A union spokesman for Ontario Northland believes the comments indicate laid off London rail workers may have to head north for similar jobs. However, Fedeli says the government had the chance to include the ONTC in the Ring of Fire earlier this month while in North Bay. The Tory MPP says it didn’t, and he wants answers. Fedeli says the Conservatives will be urging northern mayors to join them and fight why Sousa chose London to talk about the Ring of Fire. Fedeli says under a Tory government, Ontario Northland will play a pivotal role in the Ring of Fire.
