Fedeli: Proroguing distracts attention away from Liberals

For Vic Fedeli, the decision by Premier Kathleen Wynne to prorogue the Legislature last week has a 50-50 effect on his Private Members Bills. Fedeli’s Fentanyl Bill reached the Royal Assent stage meaning it will become law.  But his proposed legislation to create safe texting zones is dead and he has to start this work all over again.

Fedeli says by ending the current session of Parliament, the Liberals have wasted a lot of tax dollars because people came to Toronto to attend hearings when Bills were at the committee stage and being debated.   Fedeli says now that MPPs have to re-introduce their Bills, it distracts the public from the Liberals’ poor track record.
