The provincial New Democrat for Nickel Belt, France Gelinas, says Premier Kathleen Wynne is trying to hit the re-set button. Wynne suddenly prorogued the Legislature on Thursday and will come back next Monday with a new path for her government. But Gelinas says this means all the Bills introduced the last two years are now dead and the work to bring them back starts all over again.
The exception are Bills that received Royal Assent. Gelinas believes Wynne prorogued the Legislature because she’s getting the message that many Ontarians are unhappy with her policies. On Monday, the Liberals will present a new Throne Speech that will outline their course of action likely leading up to the 2018 general election.
