The Municipality of West Nipissing has declared this Saturday Suicide Prevention Day. Each year about four thousand people take their own lives in Canada. To mark the day, a Flame of Hope event takes place at Minnehaha Bay on Saturday. The lighting ceremony is organized by the West Nipissing Suicide Prevention Task Force.
