Rainbow looking at school closures

The Rainbow District School Board may have to close several elementary schools and bus students to other sites.  It’s the result of dropping enrolment and smaller grants from the province.  In an effort to save about $3.5 million a year, the board is looking at perhaps closing as many as six schools, with most of them in Sudbury.  Trustees will render a decision next January but before that, they’re holding accommodation review meetings for affected parents.  The closures would occur from 2017 to 2019.
