Several bear sightings in North Bay have prompted an advisory from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Black bears have been seen on at least three streets in the past week. The ministry says food is attracting them so keep things like garbage cans out of reach and sight. Try to keep your barbeque clean so bears don’t pick up the after-cooking scent it gives off. By keeping food sources to a minimum in the city, bears will head back into wooded areas looking for things to eat.
