An issue that came up at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference in Windsor this week is how legalized pot affects communities. Mark King, a North Bay city councillor at AMO, believes cities, towns and the province aren’t prepared enough to cope with the change. The federal government has a task force in place to see how to best make marijuana legal across Canada.
King saw a lot of municipal politicians at AMO talking about the impact the legalized drug would have. And he says there were a lot of unanswered questions like how police departments are going to be affected. AMO has now formed its own task force to see how Ontario communities will be affected under a legalized marijuana system.
