People in the region still face long wait times for transfers from one hospital to another for non-urgent matters. That’s according to the manager of Nipissing District Emergency Medical. And the issue isn’t isolated. John Vanthof, the MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane, says people in his riding wait hours for hospital transfers and sometimes are stranded at a hospital. Vanthof is calling on the health minister to work out a better system that delivers quick transfers for non-emergency transportations.
