An investigation continues into thefts from evacuated apartments in Sturgeon Falls. The fire on King Street Thursday night not only caused damage to businesses and apartments, but West Nipissing Police was called after apartments were robbed the following day. Police Chief Chuck Seguin five apartments close to the fire were victimized.
Seguin says the apartments were broken into and a number of items were stolen including electronics and at this time, they have made one arrest in connection to the thefts.
He says anyone with information is encouraged to call police immediately. Seguin says it’s very unfortunate that individuals would take advantage of a situation like this and it’s not typical of this community.
