Charges have been laid after a transport truck passed a stopped school bus. North Bay OPP was called about the incident around 4:30pm on June 16th. A thorough investigation found an eastbound transport passed stopped vehicles that were behind a school bus which was stopped with overhead red signal-lights flashing and stop arm out. The transport had to swerve into the westbound lane and almost hit a parent waiting to cross the road. On Monday, officers gave the 45-year-old transport driver from Etobicoke tickets for Careless Driving and Faliure to Stop for a School Bus. Combined, those tickets result in 11 demerit points and minimum fines of $800.
