Nipissing-Temiskaming MP to host town hall meetings on future of Canada Post

Postal workers in North Bay and Temiskaming Shores are urging residents to attend upcoming town hall meetings.  The meetings are being hosted by Nipissing-Temiskaming Liberal MP Anthony Rota with the first one tonight in Temiskaming Shores and the second tomorrow night at the North Bay Elks Lodge from 6:30pm-8:00pm.  President of the North Bay Local of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Keith Bradford says our post office is still a valuable public resource and now is the time to consider historic opportunities for adding new services to keep it relevant to everyone.  Postal workers in both rural and urban communities have been campaigning for the return of a postal bank among other ideas.  Some of those ideas that have been floated are using the delivery network to check in on seniors and other vulnerable citizens, offering broadband services, and using post offices to set up electric car charging stations.
