Avoiding R.I.D.E. checkpoint results in charges

A 54-year-old North Bay man faces charges after zipping through a R.I.D.E. checkpoint in the Almaguin area.  The man drove the checkpoint resulting in a brief OPP chase.  When the man wouldn’t pull over, police flattened his tires with a spike belt.  However they lost the man when he ran into the bush.  They found the driver the next day walking along Highway 592 and arrested him.  The accused is looking at charges of dangerous operation, speeding and careless driving.
