Several closures for Canada Day tomorrow; City Hall, Public Works and Services, the Merrick Landfill and the wastewater treatment plant will all be closed.
There will be no transit service either and garbage and recycling pick up will be pushed back a day. Meantime there will be lots going on throughout the city today. Community Development Facilitator Bryan Kimber says it all gets started at 9:00am with the Canada Day Road Race. He says registration for the race takes place between 7:45am and 8:45am.
From 10:00am to 2:00pm the “Egypt Gift of the Nile” exhibit is on display and free for the public at Discovery North Bay.
There is also live entertainment during the evening at the Kiwanis Bandshell starting at 7:00pm.
The Chief Commanda Cruise sets off at 8:30pm with the fireworks finale at 10:00pm.
