Inquest recommendations

A coroner’s jury says it’s important for First Nation young people to maintain their culture when attending non-native schools.  The inquest was looking into the deaths of seven Aboriginal students who died in Thunder Bay high schools over an 11 year period.  The students were all from remote reserves that don’t have their own high schools.  The deaths took place from 2000 to 2011.  The inquest tried to get to the root of why the deaths occurred.  In all, the jury made 118 recommendations.
