The fire ban issued last week for all of West Nipissing continues. It’s because of ongoing dry weather. Chief Richard Miranda says anyone caught breaking the ban can expect a hefty fine. Miranda says illegal burns that result in a fire vehicle response, will set you back $450. And he adds people responsible for a blaze under a fire prohibition, will be fined according to the severity. The prohibition doesn’t affect only West Nipissing, it also takes in much of the Nipissing District. A good amount of rain isn’t expected until Friday
