The concert lineup for Summer in the Park has almost tripled in size.

The committee has announced there will be 12 local bands and artists playing on the Civic Long weekend festival. These include: David Dine White, Jamie Gabbani and Brian Risk.

The local acts will open ahead of the previously announced artist.

Chair of the Summer in the Park Committee John Strang says this really does provide entertainment all weekend long. He says on Sunday they will be going from 2:00pm to 11:00pm .

Strang says that is a great day of music in the city and it’s something they have not done before.

Usually they start at 7:00pm with the gates opening at 5:00pm. He says that will be the status quo for the Friday and Saturday shows.

He adds there will be something for everyone music wise.

There will be rock band Break the Trend, jazz artist Mark Dunn and country/pop singer Rebekah Stevens.

Strang says this is something the residents had asked for. He says the committee heard loud and clear that there should be more local content.

Strang says it was a goal for them to have as much local music representation as possible at this year’s festival. He says this is a very good group of performers the committee has put together.

Strang says North Bay is a city that has a lot of musical talent and it will be nice to showcase some of that within the local festival.

Wristbands are $35 until June 30th. Prices increase to $50 on July 1st. Strang says at the $35 price you are basically paying $2 per band or artist.

He says that is a value you can’t get anywhere else. You can pick up wristbands at the Capitol Centre Box Office, City Hall, Canadian Tire, CIBC Banks and other locations around the city.

You can also go online at www.northbaysummerinthepark.ca.
