The co-owner of the West Nipissing Lynx is recognizing some hockey history in choosing the name for the area’s new hockey team. Patrick Miron says years ago there used to be a team known as the Sturgeon Falls Lynx. Miron says the new name, West Nipissing Lynx, is a tribute to the former team and is a bit more encompassing. Miron co-owns the team with Bruno Vezina. The GMHL schedule is expected by the end of July and the Lynx will play out of the Sturgeon Falls Arena this fall.
