Council hears details of tourism attraction study

Each year the Sudbury to North Bay corridor sees about 2.5 million tourists and they need to go through West Nipissing to get to either city.  Now the municipality is hoping to capitalize on that potential through a tourism attraction study.  The study suggests that West Nipissing build on its Francophone heritage and create a community that highlights its art and culture.

One artistic suggestion is murals on the side of buildings.  The consultants say having a tourism officer helps.  They say that cost can be covered by the municipality partnering with stakeholders which helps leverage more money from the feds and province.
