Council hears details on Leblanc Road Industrial Park

A feasibility study examining an industrial park development on Leblanc Road in Sturgeon Falls shows demand is there.  Of the 16 lots the site can accommodate, six have been sold over time.  The cost to fully develop the park is $3.9 million while a partially serviced site with no water and sewer is $1.3 million.  Mayor Joanne Savage says council now has to decide which of several options to choose.

Savage believes council will make a decision by the fall.  Whatever the decision, the development costs would be shared one third each by the municipality, province and feds.  Possible tenants include suppliers to the mining, forestry, agriculture and renewable energy sectors.
