The Liberals are spending $29 billion on transportation. Fifteen billion goes to the GTA and Hamilton region and the remainder to the rest of Ontario. And although gas tax money will be used for these multi-year projects, Premier Kathleen Wynne says the taxes won’t increase like some people thought they would. Wynne says the existing gas taxes are being re-directed and re-purposed to pay for the projects. Money would also come from the Green Bonds program.
