NDP leader Andrea Horwath was in North Bay on the weekend denouncing the Wynne Liberals’ ongoing cuts to the healthcare system. Horwath says the Liberals keep denying hospitals stable funding and says the North Bay hospital is ground zero for a facility that gets hit time after time. Horwath says the hospital has seen the loss of 350 workers, numerous beds have been shut down and services have also been cut.
She says all these can be traced back to bad decisions made by the Liberals. Horwath says although North Bay is one of the hardest hit hospitals in Ontario, the cuts are not confined to North Bay. The NDP leader says many hospitals across the province are seeing layoffs and service cuts. Horwath says the NDP will do its part to stop the erosion in healthcare but adds Ontarians also have to tell the premier and health minister enough is enough.
