In an effort to stop councillors from talking about confidential or in-camera items, North Bay council will create a code of conduct. The City’s solicitor will create what rules council needs to follow. Penalties for violating the code could be as minor as a slap on the wrist or as serious as being removed as chair of a committee or partial loss of pay.
Councillor Mac Bain proposed the code of conduct. Temiskaming Shores has a conduct code in place and Bain suggested using it as a template to develop the North Bay code.
