Vic Fedeli, the MPP for Nipissing, says the latest move by the Wynne Liberals reinforces that they don’t understand rural and Northern Ontario. Fedeli was reacting to the Liberals announcing the closure of nine Service Ontario offices including the one in Northern Ontario which is the office in Blind River east of Sault Ste. Marie. Fedeli says it’s routine for bureaucrats at Queen’s Park to make decisions affecting the north without ever having been north of Barrie.
He says the bureaucrats don’t consider the impact their decisions will have on people. But Fedeli says the closure of the Service Ontario outlets is typical behaviour for the Liberals. He says the decision will force people affected by the shutdowns to drive a lot further for the same service they get today.
