A North Bay man is in custody after he broke into an apartment, assaulted a child and held a mother at knife point. The 22-year-old broke into the apartment around 5:00am Wednesday. The noise woke up the mother who called 9-1-1. At the same time the man went into a room where he assaulted a child and held the knife to the woman when she intervened.
The woman was then dragged outside by the man who was still holding the knife. But he ran off when police arrived. It only took moments for police to catch the man and among the charges he faces are possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault and forcible confinement.
