The provincial Tories say the Liberals and NDP are supporting special interest groups instead of the north’s forest industry. Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli made that accusation after both parties refused to amend Bill 52 on Thursday. The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities asked that the Bill be amended which would have blocked interest groups from spreading misinformation about the forestry sector. Fedeli says the NDP and Liberals say one thing in Northern Ontario, like claiming they support forestry, then vote against measures to protect the industry when they’re back at Queens Park.
