It`s a solid testament of the work done by the West Nipissing Literacy Alliance. The agency is getting a national honourable mention for its GED Boot Camp program. The recognition comes from ABC Life Literacy Canada, an organization that acknowledges innovative adult literacy programs. The West Nipissing Literacy Alliance was one of four agencies nation-wide to get honourable mention and the only one in Ontario. Its GED Boot Camp program has individualized learning paths so that adults can write the high school equivalency test. The exam itself is written over an intense two days. The Alliance introduced its Boot Camp program in 2014 and on average, 75 percent of participants pass the exam.
