Strong Local Representation at North American Indigenous Games

Five local athletes are enjoying themselves at the North American Indigenous Games in Toronto this week.  Dokis First Nation’s Rylee Restoule, a Franco Cite student who was one of the flag bearers for Team Ontario during the opening ceremony, begins her competition with the under 16 volleyball team today. The Algonquins of Ontario’s Felix Larocque is part of the boys under 16 team playing 4 round robin games today.  Meanwhile Nipissing First Nation is represented by Darian Goulais who will compete for Ontario in the discus, shot put and javelin. Miguel Cyr, also from Nipissing First Nation is part of Ontario’s under 16 basketball team which is 2 and 1 so far.  And although competing with Team BC, Clinton Kaboni of Nipissing First Nation is also in Toronto for NAIG.  He has 4 assists for the Lacrosse team which plays for the medal rounds today.
