There’s still no sign of a 40-year-old Mattawa man missing in the Ottawa River. Arthur Lavoie was swimming in a part of the Ottawa that has a very strong current and one of those currents carried him away on Saturday. OPP have been searching for the Mattawa man since then. Because of the strength of the current, plus a variety of depths, that part of the Ottawa is deemed not suitable for swimming. Underwater dive teams from the OPP are looking for Lavoie and police are also using a drone to search the area.
