Blue-green algae has been found in three different spots of Lake Nipissing. The affected areas are near Camp Castaway in West Nipissing and in Callander near Bear Creek and Camp Tillicum. The health says if you draw your water from these three sites don’t drink, cook or bathe in it. Boiling the water doesn’t help and the health unit also says people should avoid swimming in the affected areas. The advice from the health unit is to use an alternative source of water even a few week after the algae has disappeared.
