Numerous drug raids result in charges against 15 residents of Elliot Lake, Sturgeon Falls and Sudbury

A huge amount of drugs have been taken off the streets in several Northeastern Ontario communities.  Several police agencies raided numerous homes resulting in the arrest of 15 people from Sudbury, Elliot Lake and Sturgeon Falls.  Seven of the accused are Elliot Lake residents, another three are from Sturgeon Falls and the remainder live in Sudbury.  Police seized more than $25,000, 7,000 meth pills, marijuana, coke and at least five prohibited weapons.  Ten non-restricted weapons were also confiscated along with two tasers.  One of the raids took place at an after-hours bar in Sudbury which is operated by the Hells Angels.  Sudbury police and RCMP investigated the drug ring for six months before orchestrating the raids.   Police agencies from West Nipissing, the Wiki Tribal police from Manitoulin, Sault Ste. Marie and York Regional helped with the raids.   The street value of the drugs was not released.
