Keep May 2nd in mind for a free event in Sudbury on the much hated residential schools. The schools were where many First Nation children were forced to attend years ago. Doctor Jenny Kay Dupuis, of the Nipissing First Nation, will talk about the impact the schools have had generations later. Dupuis is the author of the book I Am Not a Number and details her grandmother’s experiences in a residential school. Dupuis will talk about how First Nations move forward after dealing with the schools. Her talk is May 2nd at Queen Elizabeth II Public School on Dell Street and begins at 6:30pm.
