Up to 51 vulnerable young people in West Nipissing will be able to get work experience and develop job skills. The opportunity is thanks to a federal grant announced at the grand opening of the Literacy Alliance of West Nipissing office in Sturgeon Falls. The feds will provide about $458,000 so young people can get work in areas like trades and construction, retail, office administration and food services for 16 weeks. Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre and Nipissing-Temiskaming MP Anthony Rota made the announcement. The alliance will deliver the program which is called Impact 2017 and Beyond.
