Seven businesses in West Nipissing won unique and prestigious awards during the Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards event. Don’s Pub and Grill won New Business of the Year, the Looking Good Award went to Jillie Bean Italian Ice Cream and Laurentide Golf Club was recognized in the Lifetime Achievement category. Named the People’s Choice was Leisure Farms and Chesters was the recipient of the Aboriginal trophy. There were two other categories. They are the Most Active and Outstanding Business of the Year with 10 or more employees and also for more than 10. Caisse Populaire took the over 10 category while Springer Animal Hospital won the 10 and under division.
