West Nipissing police had to taser a man who was involved in an abusive relationship with his girlfriend. Inspector Ray St. Pierre says the female victim in Lavigne was involved in an on-again, off-again relationship with the man. St. Pierre says the woman was abused again the last time she was at the man’s home. He says she was punched and blocked from leaving. When police found the man, he was confrontational and also tried to get away. That forced officers to subdue the man by tasering him. The man is charged with uttering threats to kill, forcible confinement and assault.
