It was a close call for a Sturgeon Falls family. Inspector Ray St. Pierre of the West Nipissing police says the family got a call saying a family member was in trouble and needed money. St. Pierre says the family sent money, then decided to contact local police as a precaution and he says it’s lucky they did. He says the call was a con and the family was able to cancel the money transaction in time through West Union. St. Pierre says people need to watch for these kinds of scams.
