West Nipissing council is continuing to get its budget in place by lowering potential increases. The numbers right now show the municipality needs an extra 5.42 percent to run its affairs. However Mayor Joanne Savage says council is trying to reduce that further. At the same time, the preliminary tax levy increase is 2.75 percent but that’s not final. These figures don’t include things like user fees. Savage expects a new budget in place very soon.
